#BlackLivesMatter! It is a hashtag, it is the text on a protest sign and a chant being screamed out at the top of people’s lungs in the various demonstrations and marches around the world. So what better time to watch the documentary 13TH on Netflix.

My happy face
At times it feels like the end of the world with COVID-19 and its economic consequences, #BlackLivesMatter, police brutality and (systemic) racism within our society. Oh, and there is also this thing called climate change and global warming. So I thought, sure why not watch the Joker.

Another backlog game completed and I was pleasantly surprised. South Park: The Stick of Truth is one of those RPGs that does not focus on deep leveling or specialization customization, but rather wants to tell you a story, a specific South Park story that is.

Like the movie, these thoughts about The Lovebirds will be short and sweet. The movie was slated to head to cinemas last month, but as we all know, COVID-19 happened and now – due to the powers that be – it is streaming on Netflix.

In 2018 with much fanfare an all Asian cast movie was released called Crazy Rich Asians. The movie is based on the first book in a trilogy written by Kevin Kwan. The movie, with an estimated budget of $30 million, did quite well with a worldwide gross of almost $240 million. However the movie was met with quite some controversy and critic.

Divinity: Original Sin (or D:OS for short) was one of those RPGs that got praises everywhere. It had a very successful Kickstarter campaign and according to many it over delivered. Back in those days I was busy with other games, but I did scoop it up when it was on a Steam Summer Sale (remember those?).
A few years ago I had some space between games and gave D:OS a try, but it somehow never clicked. Since I had plenty of other games to play I just added it to my backlog and continued with other games. Now with us all being at home and me racing through my backlog as if I’m trying to make it to the bathroom, I saw this game popping up again.

I have a confession to make. I had never played Half-Life 2 and its episodes 1 and 2. Don’t get me wrong, I have been a big fan of part 1 and all the mods that were released and even though I had bought the games ages ago, I had never played them. That was until Half-Life Alyx got announced.

Growing up, the series Scrubs was a huge part of my teenage life. It solidified my choice of working in healthcare and it taught me valuable lessons on life, love, death and how best to cope with it all. Here in the Netherlands we are always a bit late when sitcoms come to our country, but I remember fondly when I first got in contact with the show, a marathon weekend of Scrubs on Comedy Central in an era with nothing else on TV (and no Streaming Services), I got hooked immediately.

We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we’re curious … and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.
Walt Disney
One of the more famous quotes of the late Walt Disney. It is an inspiration which can be found to this day at Disney, for example in coding of the Disney+ site. It is a philosophy which is embedded in the organization and one to live by. Always be curious, fuel your imagination and never settle with the status quo!

Did I mention I shot this photo in China?
